I truly desire to keep myself relevant & up to date in the IT world. I am proud to say that I have taken my first of many Amazon Web Services (AWS) Certification tests. I took the test on December 28th, 2018, and I am now an AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner.
My certification did not come free; but thankfully I made sure to take advantage of training reimbursement offered at my company. I think you should too – read more here. Taking advantage of work resources is a great way to advance both yourself and your career.
Amazon defines the a Cloud Practitioner as an individual who have the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively demonstrate an overall understanding of the AWS Cloud, independent of specific technical roles addressed by other AWS Certifications. A Cloud Practitioner can define what the AWS Cloud is and the basic global infrastructure. They can also describe the value of the cloud. But if we put it simply, they can describe how and why infrastructure operates in the AWS Cloud.
The best part about becoming an Certified Cloud Practitioner was that all of the training can be done for free. You can find all of the training materials on the AWS Training website. However, if you are interested, I would suggest getting familiar with the Management console. This will help you start off on the right foot. It is important to know about the many services that are offered by Amazon too. The exam references many of these services and you must know what they do.
